Thompson Rivers University campuses in Williams Lake and Kamloops are flying flags at half-mast to honour the victims in Sunday's shooting at a Quebec mosque.

"This came on the heels of the chaos caused by Friday’s news of the United States’ executive order to ban travelers and refugees to the US from seven Muslim-majority countries," said the university's president Alan Shaver in a message posted Tuesday.  "To the best of our knowledge, none of our students, faculty or staff are immediately affected by the US ruling at this time."

TRU Williams Lake campus director Dr. Ray Sanders told the Tribune Thursday the flags are at half-mast because the university is mourning the tragic loss of life.
