Three individuals are in RCMP custody following the theft of a truck from a residence in Williams Lake Thursday.
On Nov. 17 at 2:58 a.m, RCMP located the truck matching the description of the stolen vehicle on Mackenzie Avenue.
The vehicle then travelled on to Soda Creek Road where the RCMP activated its emergency equipment.
The vehicle did not stop; however, no high speed pursuit was initiated by the officers due to the winter road conditions and public safety.
The officers followed the vehicle’s tire tracks up Highway 97 North. It was eventually located by the Quesnel RCMP near Quesnel where a “tire deflation device” was deployed and the stolen vehicle stopped. The three suspects fled on foot into a wooded area.
One suspect was apprehended by the police after a 4.5-kilometre foot pursuit.
The other two suspects were apprehended with the assistance of the police service dog.
