A 108 Mile House couple is seeking assistance in finding the thief or thieves who broke into their cabin and stole an ATV, generator, tools, fishing gear and air compressor recently.

The theft came to light after a neighbour rode past the couple’s property at the end of June/early July and noticed the garbage door and front door was open.

Items from inside the cabin were stolen as well as the couple’s ATV — taken from the garage. The couple say the biggest loss was the ATV that was used to improve the husband’s mobility. The husband, who had suffered from multiple myeloma that affected his vertebrae in his back and left him temporarily unable to walk, could sit on the ATV and go around the yard, get down to the lake to fish and snowplow the driveway.

A neighbouring cabin was also broken into around the same time.

The couple is asking anyone with information on the crime to call their local RCMP, Crimestoppers or the Alexis Creek RCMP at 250-394-4211. A reward for information leading to arrest or return of property is being offered.
