Thefts and bear spray incident among weekend RCMP calls

Williams Lake RCMP Detachment members responded to approximately 75 calls for service during the weekend.  This included the usual disturbances, alcohol related offences, traffic complaints and assaults.

Feb. 21

Police were dispatched at 9:16 a.m. to a complaint of a theft at the Fraser Inn Cold Beer and Wine Store located at 245 Donald Road. The complainant stated that two males entered the store. One male grabbed a 15-pack of beer and ran out of the store. Police will be reviewing video to identify possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP or call Crimestoppers.

At 10:14 a.m. police responded to a report a theft from a vehicle on Campbell Road.  Two chain saws were stolen from a pickup truck. The saws are described as a Husqvarna 385 and a Husqvarna 288.

Police responded to a complaint of a bear spraying incident at 8:41 p.m. at a residence in the 600 block of Carson Drive. On arrival, police located a male who had been contaminated with bear spray. The victim did not know who had sprayed him and was uncooperative with police. Police talked with a second person.  None of the parties involved would cooperate with police consequently no follow-up action could be taken.
