The Tribune has a new publisher

Lorie Williston, B.C. north president, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Bowering to the position of publisher/sales manager of the Williams Lake Tribune.

Lorie Williston, B.C. north president, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Bowering to the position of publisher/sales manager of the Williams Lake Tribune.

Bowering, effective Monday morning, took over from former publisher Lorne Doerkson who is now the sales manager at Cariboo GM.

Bowering has been a full-time advertising consultant at the Tribune since August 2002.

She is married to Dave Bowering, chief engineer at Cariboo Memorial Hospital, and has two grown children, her daughter Alyx and son Patrick, both WLSS graduates.

Bowering has lived in Williams Lake since 1989, and before the Tribune she worked for three local businesses and, before that, as a client relations representative for a  title search company on the Coast.

She has always worked in customer relations and loves dealing with customers.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my years as an advertising consultant and am looking forward to the challenges this new position will bring.

Lorne was a fantastic boss, and seeing as my feet are way smaller, I won’t even try to fill his shoes.

“The Tribune has an excellent staff and lucky for me they all do a great job. I look forward to continuing to publish a community newspaper we are all proud of.”
