Emergency crews responded to reports of a structure fire on Murray Drive at 2:07 a.m. Wednesday, June 21.

“Thanks to the quick actions of (Williams Lake) RCMP members, as well as the WLFD’s quick response, the fire was contained to the room of origin,” noted fire chief Evan Dean. “While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, at this time foul-play in not suspected.”

In total 23 firefighters, three apparatuses and two command vehicles responded and were on scene for approximately one hour, Dean said.

Williams Lake RCMP, BCEHS, BC Hydro and Fortis also attended.

“Everyone has returned safely back to the hall and ready to respond.”
