City workers and business owners were quick to clear snow from the downtown streets and sidewalks Monday morning after a heavy snowfall overnight. Temperatures are to remain very cold throughout the week, with night time temperatures once again dipping below -30C by mid week. Residents throughout the region are reminded to check on friends and neighbours, particularly the disabled and the elderly to ensure their safety through the cold snap.
