Seniors have lots of questions about the proposed 70-bed care home for Williams Lake.
To help answer those questions, the Seniors Advisory Council is hosting an information meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Library beginning at 2 p.m., said council member George Atamanenko.
“We have invited Mayor Walt Cobb and John Massier from the Cariboo Regional District and they both will be at the meeting,” Atamanenko said.
“What does the 70 beds that MLA Donna Barnettt announced actually mean? The City has sold the Cariboo Lodge property. There’s been some secrecy there.”
Seniors want to be informed, he added.
“Are these care beds going to be subsidized? We want to be able to ask some questions,” Atamanenko said.
“I will personally stress the need for publicly funded spaces because people want that choice as well.”
