Search and rescue dispatched to aid in search of missing woman in Bella Coola

Update:

The Bella Coola RCMP are asking anyone with information about Dianne Pootlass, 41, to contact police after she was reported missing by her family Tuesday, June 21 at 2 p.m.

"A family member of Diane Pootlass advised they were very concerned as the last time any family member had contact with Dianne was believed to be on June 16," said North District RCMP NCO Cpl. Dave Tyreman in a press release Thursday.

Pootlass is described as First Nations. She is five feet and seven inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes.

There is no known clothing descriptors for her.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Pootlass, to please call the Bella Coola RCMP at 250-799-5363.

Members of Central Cariboo Search and Rescue are en route to Bella Coola to aid in the search of a missing woman.

"Three of our members left by helicopter at about 2 p.m. and some others members are driving," said CCSAR manager Rick White Wednesday afternoon. "They will be joined by mutual aid."

North District RCMP NCO Cpl. Dave Tyreman said the RCMP were contacted by the family of a woman who has had no contact with family in four days.
