School District 27 receives $50K for Naghtaneqed Elementary Junior Secondary School

School District 27 has received $50,000 for the Naghtaneqed Elementary Junior Secondary School.

School District 27 has received $50,000 in the final phase of funding for the repair, improvement and replacement of the playground at Naghtaneqed Elementary Junior Secondary School.

An additional $3.3 million in playground funding is being provided for 80 schools across all 60 school districts.

This is the final phase of an $8 million playground funding commitment made by Premier Christy Clark and Education Minister Abbott last September for elementary and middle schools in British Columbia.

It brings the total number of schools benefiting from the two-year playground funding program to 227 across the province.

“Think about what kind of a zoo the classrooms would be if the kids didn’t have a proper playground to burn off some energy," says Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett. "It’s essential funding and the kids will love the new grounds.”
