The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died tragically at the Redstone Rodeo near Alexis Creek on Sunday.
He was Jason Lyle Coutlee, 44, of Merritt.
“Mr. Coutlee was riding in the mountain race at the Redstone Rodeo on the afternoon of Aug. 17 when he fell from his horse,” said North Region Coroner, Donita Kuzma.
“He was immediately taken to the medical clinic at Alexis Creek where it was determined he needed a more advanced level of medical care.”
While being transported by helicopter to Kelowna General Hospital, Coutlee sadly passed away. Coutlee’s family has been notified of his death.
Kuzma said the BCCS continues to investigate the incident.
