Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a complaint of a robbery attempt downtown Wednesday evening.
Staff Sgt. Del Byron said at about 9 p.m. a 48-year-old man entered the 7/11 Food Store, complaining that he had just been the victim of an attempted robbery as he walked on Third Avenue beside the Williams Lake Library.
Byron said the victim reported that he was approached by two males and a female in dark clothing who became aggressive.
“Both males had 2x4 (boards) in their hands and demanded the victim give them everything he had,” Byron said.
The victim told police the suspects were threatening him with the boards when a female believed to be with the suspects persuaded them to stop. The suspects fled the scene through the alleyway by the Williams Lake and District Credit Union.
