Results of a Cariboo Regional District (CRD) survey on rural fire protection for rural residents were released Friday. They were included with the agenda package for a special board meeting on fire protection set for Monday, Feb. 4 at the CRD board office at 11 a.m.
Of the 328 surveys received, 60 per cent said they want the CRD to continue legal action to ensure the original agreement is enforced for the five-year term as originally promised by the city.
Twenty-five per cent of the surveys received said residents want the CRD to pursue developing a volunteer fire department to serve the fringe area, and 15 per cent of the surveys indicated residents want the CRD to develop a new fire agreement with the city.
