The 28-bed residential care facility Deni House reopened Nov. 28 after a $1.9 million dollar renovation.

The renovations, funded by the Cariboo Chilcoltin Regional Hospital District, have brought the facility up to today’s standards.

Two residents were admitted the first day, followed by two the next, said acute health services administrator Allison Ruault during an Interior Health update to city council on Tuesday.

The opening of the facility will be formally announced next week, said IHA communications officer Erin Toews.

The facility was permanently closed in 2007 when residential care beds were opened up at Seniors Village, Toews said.
