North District Traffic Services wants everyone travelling in the north this holiday weekend, to know that Traffic Services are going to join them on northern roadways.
“Once again this holiday weekend, the North District Traffic Services Unit, across the north, will be ensuring they have a full complement of traffic enforcement personnel patrolling area roadways,” the RCMP noted in a press release.
“We are trying to get all our available traffic units on the road to increase police visibility on the highways and increase the chance of apprehension, should anyone drive in an aggressive manner, placing the lives of others at risk” said Staff Sgt. Pat McTiernan, North District Traffic Services. “Our focus will be the issues that are a direct contribution to fatal and serious injury crashes”.
RCMP will target aggressive driving, impaired driving, distracted driving and the failure to wear seat belts.
