RCMP attend fire call at Lakeview Trailer Park

RCMP and firefighters respond to a fire call at Lakeview Trailer Park Monday night, the scene of December's suspected arsons.

Emergency crews responded to the Lakeview Trailer Park Monday night to find the remnants of one of the trailers destroyed by what is suspected to be an arson, on fire.

Staff Sgt. Del Byron said RCMP officers were called at 6:40 p.m. Monday and attended the scene with the Williams Lake Fire Department, who quickly put out the blaze.

No suspects were arrested, however, police continue to investigate the matter, which did not set fire to any homes.

Police are still investigating two suspected arson fires which claimed the lives of a man and woman living in the park, while another family just barely escaped their home in time.

Neighbours and former residents have said there was increased criminal activity in the park leading up to the original suspected arsons, which happened Dec. 8.

No one has been charged in connection with those fires or deaths.

Anyone with information regarding Monday evening’s fire, or the trailer home fires Dec. 8, is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
