Several events are planned Wednesday to mark Remembrance Day in Williams Lake.

The public is invited to the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex’s Gibraltar Room where the doors open at 9:30 a.m. for a traditional Remembrance Day service at 10 a.m.

Following the service the colour party will lead a parade to the Cenotaph at city hall.

By 10:50 a.m. there will be a two-minute wave of silence, followed by the laying of wreaths.

If the weather co-operates the Williams Lake Flying Club will perform the Missing Man Formation at 11 a.m.

After the ceremony, the community is invited to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139 for a potluck, fellowship and to share memories, located at 365 Barnard St., where there will be a variety of entertainers.

For younger parade participants, there will be refreshments provided in the lower level of the legion.

For more information, or if you are in need of a ride to the service, contact the branch at 250-392-7311 or at 250-392-4255.
