Prince George Search and Rescue have located snowmobilers involved in an avalanche east of Prince George Saturday.

“The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time,” said Dale Bull, a manager with PGSAR, Saturday evening.

SAR was notified at noon that an avalanche had occurred and five or six snowmobilers were involved, in an area near Torpy less than 100 kilometres east of Prince George that contains Evanoff Provincial Park.

“We responded with a ground crew," Bull said. "We couldn’t take a helicopter because of the weather."

Watch for details of the rescue as they become available.
