The Sam Ketcham Pool will be closed for longer than originally thought.
Initial work to repair a leak in the main tank of the Sam Ketcham Pool was completed; however, upon refilling the pool to test the repairs further issues have arisen and substantial water is still being lost from the main tank. Additional testing is now required to find the source of these water leaks and then subsequent repairs will have to be done. This situation means that the session of swimming lessons that was to begin Aug. 2, including the Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor course, will have to be cancelled.
Those affected will be contacted by the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex staff. There is no time line for re-opening the pool.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience of this delay,” says Coun. Surinderpal Rathor. “We will inform the community as soon as possible when we have more information.”
