Police target suspected drug house in Glendale

The RCMP arrested five people suspected of drug trafficking after searching a home on Edwards Drive in the Glendale neighbourhood Wednesday.

The Williams Lake RCMP arrested five people suspected of drug trafficking after searching a home on Edwards Drive in the Glendale neighbourhood Wednesday.

“We have to send the drugs off for analysis but believe we have seized cocaine and methamphetamine,” said RCMP Insp. Milo MacDonald Thursday. “The drugs were in the amounts that were more consistent with trafficking than with personal use.”

Currently no one is charged, although police are preparing a court brief and anticipate charge approvals,  MacDonald said.

Police are regularly advised of places that are involved in the drug trade and target them based on the information they receive from the public, MacDonald added.

A witness in the area at the time of the bust Wednesday said residents are trying to take back the neighbourhood from individuals who they said are committing crime.
