Police make arrests in Second Ave. disturbance

Three suspects have been arrested in relation to the disturbance on Second Ave. Wednesday evening where a young man died.

Three suspects have been arrested in relation to the disturbance on Second Ave. Wednesday evening in Williams Lake that left a 20-year-old dead.

The North District Major Crime Unit announced they have three individuals – two men aged 21 and 27 and a 23-year-old woman – in custody who are associated to the incident.

The trio have been remanded into custody and are potentially facing charges of discharging a firearm with intent and reckless discharging of a firearm, said police.

The next court appearance in Williams Lake Court for the two men is set for April 14, while the woman is scheduled to appear in court April 4.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the disturbance at the Second Ave. residence or any suspicious activity that occurred leading up to the disturbance, to please contact the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

On March 30, at around 7:45 p.m. police were called to the 1100 block of Second Ave. where they say shots may have been fired inside the house.

Police believe the incident was targeted and gang-related.

Twenty-year-old Indi Johnny died in hospital as a result of a gunshot wound following the incident.
