RCMP are investigating the suspicious death of a 37 year old resident in 100 Mile House.

According to police, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report Monday to check on the welfare of an employee who did not show up for work and was out of character.

Officers attended a home in the 6000 block of Norman Road and located the resident dead at the scene.

The death is being treated as suspicious at this time and the North District Major Crime Unit along with forensic experts have been called in to investigate and process the scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area prior to the late morning of Jan. 4, to contact the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456.

To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be released, said police.
