Police investigate mailbox vandalism

RCMP ask public for help after rural mailboxes damaged north of Williams Lake.

Williams Lake RCMP are urging residents to be aware of their surroundings after Canada Post mailboxes were vandalized earlier this week.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron said 15 mailboxes were damaged at Highway 97 in the Soda Creek/Deep Creek area north of Williams Lake. Byron said police believe the damage occurred between 2 p.m. Monday and noon on Tuesday.

"We are asking residents to be vigilant around post boxes for suspicious vehicles and suspicious activities," he said.

"We'd like to catch these guys."
