Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a string of attacks on area Canada Post mailboxes

Williams Lake RCMP are investigating a string of attacks on area Canada Post mailboxes.

Staff Sgt. Del Byron said the first mailbox that was targeted was on Belleview Drive, a highway frontage road in the Lexington subdivision, Thursday, Sept. 17 at 10:34 p.m.

Byron said locks were damaged when some mailboxes were opened.

The next incident of mailbox tampering was reported Sunday morning on Sept. 27 at neighbouring Lexington Road where mailboxes had either been opened or had pry marks.

The third incident also occurred on Sunday morning, this time north of town along Highway 97, near the Nenquanyi Wellness Centre where a pile of mail was discovered.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP.
