The weekend of May 22-24 saw Williams Lake RCMP attend several disturbances, an impaired driving, an assault and two domestic incidents.

According to Staff Sgt. Del Byron, police arrested a prolific offender Friday after a victim complained that he was assaulted in his home by a suspect who was refusing to leave.

The suspect was arrested, charged with assault and released on a Promise to Appear.

Police were also called to two domestic incidents over the weekend, one on Friday night and another Sunday evening.

One person was charged with assault in the first complaint while the other matter is still under investigation.

On Sunday, May 24 at about 2:51 a.m. RCMP stopped and arrested a male driver after he allegedly showed signs of impairment and refused to provide a breath sample.

Byron said officers had observed the driver crossing the centre line on Highway 97 headed north in the southbound lane.
