Percy Guichon re-elected as Alexis Creek chief

Tsi Del Del (Alexis Creek) Chief Percy Guichon was re-elected for a second term.

Guichon received 134 votes, beating Ervin Charleyboy who received 71 votes.

"The voters made a very strong statement," Guichon says. "They've encouraged me and believed in me and I am grateful for the vote of confidence."

Six councillors were also elected, including four incumbents: Terry Char, with 77 votes; Rocky Guichon, with 75; Otis Guichon, with 63; and Clayton Charleyboy, with 62. New on council are Harold Corn with 75 votes and Gerald William with 60 votes.

The election was held Monday, Jan. 9.
