Paving will begin on South Lakeside Drive in Williams Lake later this week and is anticipated to take four or five days to complete, the city said Wednesday.
"The public is advised to expect longer than usual delays," a city press release noted, adding the city appreciates motorists’ patience.
The project, which began in July, required a number of tasks to be completed, including removing and replacing the material under the road surface, construction of retaining walls, and installation of concrete islands and electrical infrastructure.
When the project is complete, there will be two eastbound lanes from Hodgson Road to Pioneer Drive, as well as a pedestrian/bike lane extending to the Cariboo Adventist Academy.
