Staff at the Scout Island Nature Centre and Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex are adjusting schedules and adding programs to help parents and children get through the teacher's strike Monday.
Environmental educator Sue Hemphill said the Nature Centre is hosting a program with room for 18 children ages six to thirteen Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The class will be outside exploring, playing games and learning about all the life at Scout Island.
The cost is $25 and children need to bring a garbage-free lunch and snacks and appropriate clothes for outdoor play, including rubber boots.

Meanwhile, at Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex, staff have added a morning Rec swim from 9 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon Toonie swim, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. where the cost to swim is just $2.
The Rec and Roll after school care program has been cancelled and new registrations are not being taken for this day. Rec and Roll registrants have been notified of the cancellations.
Teachers is SD 27 are expected to be picketing schools Monday as part of rotating job action.
The district has asked parents to keep their children home from school Monday.
