Operation Red Nose got off to a quiet start Friday, offering only four rides.
“The whole city was quiet, thus a reflection for our service maybe,” said Dave Dickson, community safety co-ordinator. “Friday evening was cold, so no one was out.”
On Saturday evening volunteers supplied 41 rides, down from 51 rides the same evening last year.
“We are ready to go again this coming week end, Dec 4 and 5 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m and we have all of our volunteers in place which is very nice,” Dickson added.
