One person has been arrested in connection with a homicide that took place outside a residence in Bella Coola during the weekend.
Police responded to an altercation on Saturday, Nov. 5, in Bella Coola and upon arrival found one person unconscious and unresponsive, said the RCMP in a press release.
The individual was transported to Bella Coola Hospital by BC Ambulance, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
North District Major Crime Unit, along with Prince Rupert Forensic Identification Section were called to assist the Bella Coola RCMP with the investigation.
Police are releasing no further details at this time as the investigation continues, but said there is no threat to the public as a result of the incident.
