The Ministry of Environment will host a community meeting Wednesday to update the public on the next steps to mitigate the Mount Polley Mine tailings breach.
“This community meeting will include presentations by the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Mount Polley Mining Corporation,” the ministry said. “Representatives from the Interior Health Authority and the Cariboo Regional District will also be available to answer questions.”
The meeting takes place Wednesday, June 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gibraltar Room in the Cariboo Memorial Complex.
Everyone is welcomed and feedback from community members is encouraged. Coffee and tea will be provided.
