Merritt man stabbed in Williams Lake

A 24-year-old Merritt man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in Williams Lake Thursday.

A 24-year-old Merritt man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed in Williams Lake Thursday.

Around 5:29 p.m., July 3, the RCMP responded to the 500 block of Donald Road in Williams Lake, learned the man required immediate medical attention, and transported him to Cariboo Memorial Hospital for treatment.

"Shortly after the initial report, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for the incident," the RCMP said in a media release. "The stabbing is believed to be an isolated incident and both individuals are known to police"

As the investigation is still in its initial stages, no further information will be released at this time, police said.
