A man has been sentenced to one year in prison after being found guilty of marijuana production offences.

A Vancouver man has been sentenced to one year in prison after being found guilty of marijuana production offences in relation to a Williams Lake grow op.

On Monday, Oct. 17, Justice Elizabeth Bayliff sentenced Rongzhu Chen, 40, to a one-year prison term followed by one year of probation.

The Williams Lake RCMP say that on March 25, 2009, police executed a search warrant at 151 Country Club Boulevard in Williams Lake.

Investigators discovered a large, indoor marijuana grow operation consisting of 1,139 marijuana plants.

Chen was arrested at the scene and charged with marijuana production offences, and, earlier this year, went to trial before being found guilty.
