A man was transported by ambulance to Cariboo Memorial Hospital Friday morning after the Blue Saturn he was driving veered off Twelfth Avenue North, crashing through a fence and into the back of a home in the 1000 block of Eleventh Avenue North.

An RCMP officer at the scene said he did not know the extent of the man's injuries at this point.

Devin Smith said he was at work when he was notified of the crash into his home.

"There was a little girl in the vehicle," he said. "She is fine and the driver is in the hospital. The house has been there for 37 years and this has never happened before."

Kristen Rennie said she was sleeping inside the home when just before 9 a.m. she awoke to a loud bang.

"I came out to see that a car had crashed into the back of my house," she said. "There was water everywhere too because it hit the water line."

The roads are slick this morning as Williams Lake received fresh snow overnight.
