Man stabbed Saturday

A 19-year-old male is in custody; charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and failing to comply with a court order are being recommended to Crown counsel after an April 30 incident.

A 19-year-old male is in custody; charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and failing to comply with a court order are being recommended to Crown counsel after an April 30 incident.

At  8:34 p.m. Saturday police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Dairy Road where a 20-year-old male was allegedly stabbed.

The victim was transported to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The accused in the stabbing remains in police custody pending his first appearance. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP or Crimestoppers.
