A 46-year-old man currently recovering in hospital was assaulted and robbed in his home early Wednesday morning.

Williams Lake RCMP received a report at 4:17 a.m. that sometime around 3:30 a.m. three unknown suspects wearing balaclavas entered the victim's home, located in the 1600 block of Signal Point Road, assaulted him, tied him up and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash and a black Gibson's electric guitar in a black case, valued at $3,000.

The only information the victim could provide to police is one of the suspects was possibly six-feet-tall and around 180 pounds. One of the suspects was referred to as Dustin or Justin.

RCMP said the motive for the robbery is not yet known but police believe the suspects may have been looking for firearms. Police noted the suspects may have known the victim owned a gun safe, but all that was inside was the guitar and cash.

RCMP are asking anyone with information regarding this robber to contact them at 250-392-6211 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
