Man arrested for possessing a dangerous weapon in Williams Lake

The Williams Lake RCMP arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after he was seen waving around a knife and behaving aggressively.

The Williams Lake RCMP arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after he was seen waving around a knife and behaving aggressively.

Police responded to the call in the 300 block of Oliver Street, and while on route, the complainant updated the RCMP, reporting that the suspect had headed southbound through the Herb Gardner Park.

"The male was arrested in the park and a folding knife was found in his possession," Williams Lake RCMP Inspector Warren Brown says. "He was arrested for possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace."
