Male faces several charges in Williams Lake after attempted break-in Thursday

An 18-year-old male faces several charges after an incident in Williams Lake.

An 18-year-old male faces several charges including, break and enter, flight from police, weapons possession and drug possession, after an incident in Williams Lake.

The RCMP said on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 10 p.m. the male attempted to break into a local residence.

Occupants called the police and patrols were made, however, the suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.

During the investigation the subject was identified and it was determined that he is known to police.

The next day at 10:45 a.m., information was received the male was in the Cariboo Regional District Library on Third Avenue North.

Police immediately attended the library and located the subject inside.

When they informed of his arrest, he fled on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit he was surrounded and apprehended.

He was found possessing bear spray, brass knuckles, cocaine and cash.
