A machine that caught fire near Alkali Lake Monday morning caused minimal spread into the surrounding, said the BC Wildfire Service.

BC Wildfire Service personnel attended to the fire, which was discovered earlier today, said Jessica Mack, a communications specialist with the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The fire was put out by industry personnel, she said, and has since been updated to under control.

“Sufficient suppression action has been taken to ensure no further spread of the fire,” said Mack.
