In 2011 Cops for Cancer Tour de North will come to Williams Lake for the first time since its inception.
The bike ride will start Sept. 9 in Fort St. John and conclude in Williams Lake Sept. 15. There will be four riders from the Williams Lake detachment: Dave Dickson, Cpl. Brian Evan, Cpl. Michael Hacker and Const. Ken Davies.
The Williams Lake riders have committed to raising $12,500 in donations for the Canadian Cancer Society. Individuals who wish to make a donation can access the north region at the Cops for Cancer website, or contact the Williams Lake RCMP at 250-392-6211.
Proceeds from the ride support pediatric cancer research and programs to support families of those stricken with cancer.
