Liz Twan (middle) was chosen as the first-place winner in the photography section of the 2011 Art of the West Show and Sale at the Kamloops Cowboy Festival. Twan, who also won first place last year, entered three photographs in the art show and sale sponsored by Canadian Cowboy Country Magazine. The first-place finish comes with $350 in prize money. Twan also received the Joe Marten Memorial Award for the Preservation of Cowboy Heritage in B.C. There have been seven previous Joe Marten Memorial Award winners since 2000, but Twan is the first woman to receive the award. Pictured with Twan are her husband Bronc (left) and Traudl Marten.
