Late September in the Chilcotin, luxuriant pine grass grows amid a dead forest of fire-killed lodgepole pine snags, southwest of Bull Canyon. The pine grass is a product of our wet spring and summer; the trees were burned in the Lava Canyon Fire of 2009.
