Two people received medical attention following an incident involving a knife and bear spray Saturday night.

Two people received medical attention following an incident involving a knife and bear spray Saturday night.

At about 8 p.m., the Williams Lake RCMP responded to complaint that there was a male with a knife and another with bear spray near the 300 block area of Proctor Street.

When police arrived, the suspects were gone, but one individual connected with the incident was located at Cariboo Memorial Hospital with stab wounds to the leg and chest.

The second male also attended the hospital, with a knife wound to the hand and bear spray contamination.

Both males, however, received non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say one male was taken into custody but later released without charge.

Police say neither party would cooperate with the police and charges are not being contemplated.
