The Williams Lake Kidney Walk takes place this Sunday, Sept. 27 in Boitanio Park.
Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
People can also register for the walk at kidneywalkbc.ca.
Since 2008, the Kidney Walk campaign has raised more than $1.3 million for kidney patients in B.C., reports the Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC and Yukon Branch. This year the branch’s goal is to raise $450,000.
Kidney disease affects one in 10 Canadians and has no cure, the foundation reports.
More than 500 people in B.C. are currently on the organ transplant waitlist.
