Interior Health said it will take additional time to review the future of laundry services and does not expect to make a decision on the possibility of outsourcing services until at least March 2016.
IH president and CEO Chris Mazurkewich issued a statement Wednesday saying the process has unfortunately taken longer than anyone anticipated.
"I want to take the time to understand all of the complexities around this significant issue," Mazurkewich said. “I know that this may be frustrating to many of those who are anticipating a decision soon, and I appreciate the impact on our staff for the length of this process."
Mazurkewich plans to work with the team leading the review to gather all of the information available before making a thorough recommendation to the IH board, he added.
