Identity of remains still unknown

The Williams Lake RCMP are still awaiting the outcome of an examination of a forensic anthropologist to determine the identity of the human remains found north of Esler near Williams Lake on Aug. 24.

The Williams Lake RCMP are still awaiting the outcome of an examination of a forensic anthropologist to determine the identity of the human remains found north of Esler near Williams Lake on Aug. 24.

The police report the remains appear to be that of a male and could be up to several years old. No foul play is suspected and the RCMP is currently conferring with neighbouring detachments to see if they have any outstanding missing persons hat could fit with this time line.

Investigators continue to liaise with the BC Coroners Office. The RCMP say it would be irresponsible for them to speculate on the identity of the deceased at this time without further information to support or corroborate such opinions.
