A female driver was treated for minor lacerations to her chin after a single motor vehicle incident Tuesday morning near Williams Lake.

At around 9 a.m., Dec. 10, the Williams Lake RCMP, Williams Lake Fire Dept. and BC Ambulance Service responded to the incident four kilometres north of Williams Lake on Highway 97 south of the Mackenzie Avenue intersection.

“She was driving southbound and lost control,” said Corp. Jeremy Roberts. “She over-corrected and hit the barrier three times.”

The highway had been salted and sanded earlier in the day, but with the morning’s transport traffic, the highway was icy, Roberts said.

“It was like a skating rink up there.”

Roberts said the driver was transported to Cariboo Memorial Hospital and was expected to be released later in the day.
