Four properties impacted by Puntzi Lake fire

Four properties have been impacted by the fire at Puntzi Lake.

The Cariboo Regional District has confirmed that do date one resort, two permanent homes, one seasonal home and multiple outbuildings on a total of four properties have been lost as a result of the Puntzi Lake fire.

All affected property owners have been notified.

On July 8 the CRD expanded an evacuation order to include approximately 50 properties along the northern, western and southern shores of Puntzi Lake.

An evacuation alert, which is along the northern end of the lake and south of the fork on the Puntzi Lake Road down to Highway 20, remains in effect.

The Puntzi Lake fire remains at approximately 1,200 hectares.An Emergency Social Services Reception Centre has been established at the CRD offices in Williams Lake at 180 D North Third Ave.

The CRD's EOC public information line is 250-398-5117.Residents are reminded to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Notification System by visiting the CRD at cariboord.ca.
