Snow began to fall in the first hour of Saturday morning, Feb. 25 as flames broke through the roof of the former Howard Johnson Hotel on Sixth Avenue South in Williams Lake, formerly the Williams Inn as fire and emergency crews continued to battle the blaze. Acrid smoke filled the air, burning throats of onlookers.

Details as to the cause of the fire are unknown at this time.
