The Cariboo Fire Centre and the Cariboo Regional District will host emergency wildfire response information meetings throughout the region between March 28 and April 6.

CRD and CFC staff will provide short presentations defining their roles and responsibilities in emergency and wildfire responses and take and respond to questions during these sessions.

The meetings are in response to some o the recommendations made during the debrief sessions that followed last year’s fires, alerts and evacuations.

The organizations hope the meetings will improve communications and understanding should there be more fire emergencies this year.

The meetings will be held April 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Anahim Lake Community Hall; April 2 from 3-5 p.m. at the Alexis Creek Community Hall; and April 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Long House at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds. Meetings will also be held in 100 Mile House and Quesnel.
